Miquel Navarro (Mislata, Valencia, 1945) is a sculptor and one of the leading figures in contemporary Spanish sculpture. Trained at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts in Valencia, he left painting in 1972 to dedicate himself to sculpture. He received the National Prize for Visual Arts in 1986 and is a member of the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.
His work is present in institutions such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Guggenheim Bilbao, the Museo Reina Sofía and the IVAM. More than fifty of his monumental sculptures are installed in public spaces in European and American cities. In 2020 he created his own foundation in Mislata to preserve and promote his work.
In the Main Patio of the hotel stands La Centinela, an aluminium sculpture that also functions as a fountain. The piece occupies one of the central spaces of the house, through which guests pass as they move between the different rooms and areas.
